so what happened tomorrow?
as disappointing as it may sound,Billy Kaplan stuck to his original plan.not that he didn't believe what the scarlet witch said,he just didn't think he is ready.
amazingly,John Kesler didn't come after him eagerly.though Billy was avoiding him,he surely couldn't if John determined to catch him.there's only one explanation---Kate Bishop was right!
last night,he told her about using the move she taught him.she was amazed that he finally got the courage.she promised him John wouldn't come after him anymore.or at least this month.she said he must be so embarrassed that he was disabled by his victim.he wouldn't want to bring that up so quickly.also,now they knew Billy wasn't someone you can easily pick on,so they may leave him alone from now on.
that felt almost too good to be true.but it seemed that it was happening!no one bothered him the whole morning!
Billy almost felt overwhelmed by this unexpected joy.he had never felt this Happy---until he found John Kesler cornering a new-comer in the afternoon.
the scene was so familiar.John sneering,his gang laughing and shouting,students around watching in silence.the new-comer looked stronger than him,taller than him.yet he clearly didn't know how to fight.he just kept pleading,trying to talk sense into his bullies.Billy knew it wouldn't work.he tried that the first time.
this time John had found someone else to bully.Billy probably should be grateful that he didn't keep coming after him and left while he could.but...no!maybe it was because he thought the new guy didn't have to suffer this if he hadn't fight John.maybe it was because he might not be brave enough to defend himself,but he couldn't watch others get hurt...he stepped up.
"leave him alone,Kesler."
a collective sharp inhale.the students around all looked at him like"dude,are you out of your mind?"John's partners in crime stared at him in disbelief.John looked shocked.no one spoke for a long time until John broke the ice.
"how dare you,Billy Kaplan?!"he shouted,his voice filled with anger and hatred,"you dare to teach me what to do?!who do you think you are,loser?you're just a freak getting punched by me every time we meet!"
"except I kneed you in the groin last time."Billy retorted coldly.
John lost it.he launched himself at Billy with a roar.Billy didn't even have time to react before he was already on the ground,with John sitting upon him,fist raised.
"say that again and I will beat you to death."
"get the hell off me,you're not even my type!"he decided to go ahead regardless.
"what did you just say to me?!"
"I said,"Billy shouted back,"pissed off!"
he didn't realize when he was saying those words,his eyes were glowing blue.
"crack!boom!"lightning appeared out of nowhere,striking John down and throwing him backwards.
Billy rose from the ground,starring at the mess in horror.John was on the ground,groaning and twisting in agony.his clothes was torn.the ground was fried.terrified students backing away from him.he could read the word from their face:freak.
"i...I...didn't...I..."Billy muttered,"sorry...I'm sorry...."he broke down,bursting into tears and dashing out.he heard someone calling his name,but he didn't looked back.
they were right about him.he was a freak.he nearly killed John Kesler.
